Varec 42 Series Sampling and Gauging Hatch Covers are designed to provide quick access for product gauging, temperature measurement or sampling. They are installed on tank roofs or roof flanges. Model 42 Hatch Covers are secured by tightening the handwheel. A padlock feature is incorporated to prevent unauthorized tank access through the hatch. The Model 42 hatch cover maintains a gas-tight seal at working pressures of up to 3 PSIG (20.7 kPa), when supplied with a Buna-N insert. Varec Model 42 covers are designed with a foot pedal which provides quick tank access for sampling. This pedal is depressed to open the cover. The cover will stay open enabling the operator free use of both hands to gauge or sample the tank contents.
